Passerine Rehabilitation Basics
This session provides introductory information on working
with common passerines. It starts with natural history and
identification. It reviews safe capture and handling, how to admit and
examine the species, and some common health problems. It describes
facilities, caging, and habitat needs. It reviews basics of diet,
nutrition, and feeding methods. Release criteria, process, preparation,
and other considerations are described. In addition, it includes tips on
working with wild orphans and managing stress. |
Nancy
Kelly, a highly experienced avian rehabilitator will present this
session. Handouts will be provided. |

MacKenzie Goldthwait, all with rabbit rehabilitation experience, will
