  Wildlife Rehabilitation Introductory Training Sessions

Project Development Team

The following individuals comprise the project team that have developed the introductory sessions for new rehabilitators.

Shirley Casey, president and co-founder of WildAgain Wildlife Rehabilitation in Evergreen, Colorado, has been a permitted wildlife rehabilitator since 1986. She’s been the project leader of the Wildlife Rehabilitation Recruiting Project and Wildlife Rehabilitation Learning Needs Project. She has conducted research, published and presented on numerous wildlife rehabilitation subjects at state and national rehabilitation and veterinary conferences, and conducted training for 2000+ rehabilitators. Shirley has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and MBA from Southern Methodist University. She is a member of NWRA, IWRC, CCWR, and WWRA.

Allan Casey, co-founder of WildAgain Wildlife Rehabilitation in Evergreen, Colorado, has been a permitted wildlife rehabilitator since 1986. Allan has conducted research, published and presented on a wide range of wildlife rehabilitation topics at state, regional and national rehabilitation conferences. He has served on several national wildlife rehabilitation projects, including the Excellence in Wildlife Rehabilitation Working Group (2000-2002) and Wildlife Rehabilitation Learning Needs Project. Allan has a B.B.A. and MBA from Southern Methodist University. He is a member of IWRC, NWRA, and WWRA.

Nancy Kelly has been a licensed rehabilitator since 1992. Nancy is co-founder and executive director of Second Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Pueblo, Colorado, since 1994. Nancy has rehabilitated and released thousands of birds and small mammals, including bats. She has presented at the IWRC and NWRA national conferences and co-authored several rehabilitation articles. Nancy has a B.S. in biology from Colorado State University - Pueblo. Nancy is a member of the Colorado Wildlife Rehabilitation Council, NWRA, and IWRC.

Venice Kelly has been a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in Nederland, CO since 1997. Venice rehabilitates small mammals, including squirrels, marmots, rabbits and raccoons. Venice has sponsored and trained over a dozen new rehabilitators. Venice is a member of the Colorado Wildlife Rehabilitation Council.

Erin Grabowski is the Facilities Manager at Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Sanctuary in Longmont, Colorado.  She has been a Greenwood staff member since 2003. Her responsibilities include operating a wildlife hotline that receives 35,000 calls+ annually, educating the public on humane wildlife strategies, and managing wildlife admissions for 3000+ wild animals annually. Erin has a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Delaware. Erin is a member of IWRC, NWRA and the Colorado Wildlife Rehabilitation Council.

Beth Bridges has been an animal care staff member at Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Sanctuary in Longmont, Colorado since 2003. A licensed wildlife rehabilitator and Greenwood animal care manager since 2004, Beth has provided care for several thousand wild animals annually. She has provided training and supervision for Greenwood staff and volunteers on rehabilitation care. Beth has a B.S. in Biology from Reed College. Beth is a member of IWRC and NWRA.
