ALERT. Possible issues with Zoologic
Milk Matrix 42/25 Lot # HJ3140ZF (10:39 3430).

| As
part of WildAgain's ongoing and routine testing of various commercial
powdered milk replacer products, two recently manufactured samples (late
2010) of Zoologic Milk Matrix 33/40 and 42/25 (lot
HJ3140ZF 10:39 3430) were sent for compositional analysis
testing by Midwest Laboratories. The 33/40 sample appeared to be within
expected levels when compared to the guaranteed minimums for protein and
fat.
However, the ZMM42/25 (meaning at least 42% Protein and at least 25% Fat) sample showed surprising values of approximately 15% below the guaranteed amount for protein and 60% above the amount for fat. At our request, the lab repeated the tests to insure this was not an analysis error. Interestingly, the protein/fat values for the ZMM42/25 sample are remarkably similar to the ZMM33/40 sample. As shown, the ZMM42/25 lot number indicates it was made on November 10, just one day after the day the ZMM33/40 was made. We have forwarded these lab reports to PetAg. If you have recently acquired this product and lot number, you may want to contact PetAg for verification that the protein and fat values meet the guaranteed analysis for the specific container you have prior to your use with wildlife. |
